How do cross-border transactions work?

Does Gravy require BVN, NIN, or KYC?

Yes — Gravy follows AML and KYC compliance in every market we operate in.

In our Nigerian launch market, NIN verification and facial recognition are required for wallet access. Cross-border KYC is processed by Persona via our licensed remittance partner, to global standards.

As we expand, market-specific verification (Canadian, EU, etc.) will be added.

Can users hold foreign currency on Gravy?

Yes. Gravy’s cross-border wallets support multi-currency holdings (limits of $250,000 and $500,000 depending on tier).

Local-currency limits vary by market — for example, transactions in our Nigerian launch market are currently capped at ₦5,000,000 per day, with similar tiered limits in each region we operate.

How does Gravy protect users from fake or low-quality vendors?

A strict SLA governs every vendor.
If a vendor violates quality or service standards, they are delisted immediately, and affected users receive full refunds.

What devices does Gravy work on?

Gravy is available on iOS and Android.
A web app is currently in development.

What if a user loses their phone?

Call Gravy’s support line immediately.
Your account will be placed on temporary lockdown.
Once you’re ready to regain access, you’ll reactivate using secret security questions and facial recognition
